SHIELD INVESTIGATIONS INC was established in 2023 by Steve Havlin, who retired from public service after serving 29 honorable years in both the local and federal governments (4 years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Investigator (MPI), 4 years as a local policeman with the second largest city in Northwest Indiana, and 21 years with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) - as a Federal Air Marshal (FAM) and a Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
During the 17 years as a HSI Special Agent, he spent the last 10 years assigned to the Chicago Cyber Crimes Task Force (C3TF) investigating domestic and transnational criminal organizations, who were involved in complex schemes. These schemes involved cyber-crimes, identity theft, bank and credit card fraud, romance and Ponzi schemes, and money laundering.
